Choral Classics

Those lucky enough to be present in Christ Church Derry Hill on Saturday May 12 2012 witnessed a superb performance by the City of Bath Bach Choir (CBBC) conducted by Nigel Perrin and accompanied by Jamie Knights.  This was interleaved with a magical performance by the City of Bath Bach JUNIOR Choir conducted by Jamie Knights and accompanied by Frances Ringer.

Nigel was a chorister at Ely Cathedral and went on to become a choral scholar at King’s College, Cambridge.  Nigel became well known at home and abroad as the high voice of the King’s Singers.  He is now an internationally renowned choral director.  He recently celebrated  20 years as Musical Director of CBBC; he also directs Bath Camerata, Exeter Festival Chorus and the Wells Cathedral School Chamber Choir.  He teaches specialist singers at Wells, gives masterclasses, adjudicates competitions and runs Summer schools and choral weekends all over the world.

Jamie studied horn and piano at Wells Cathedral School and graduated in 2004 with a First Class BA Hons Degree in Music from Bath Spa University.  He is Musician-in-Residence at Kingswood School, Bath and is Musical Director of the City of Bath Bach JUNIOR Choir with which he has been associated since its creation in 2001.

Frances is a final year Music student at Bath Spa University.  She has played piano at numerous venues across the UK, including the Barbican, Snape Maltings, Tewkesbury Abbey, Birmingham Festival Hall and in Bath.
