Several people have told me they have given up alcohol for Lent. Some, like Averil, are fasting from alcohol on week days during Lent.
Claire says: This year I’m giving up booze…For those who know me well they’ll understand how much of a challenge this task is going to be! Possibly not the best time to be doing this…parents evening at School, GCSE options evening, Mothering Sunday celebrations…to name but a few challenges along the way! 

Someone has said: fasting is less about what we’re giving up and much more about what we’re making room for…
